Anyway, in May, Ginny (one of the girls from Carolina) messaged us and pointed out that Coldplay was going to be in Glasgow on her birthday (which was yesterday). Before yesterday, I was not much of a coldplay fan- I am not going to lie. Dont get me wrong, I love The Scientist and Fix You just as much as the next girl, but they wouldnt have been high on my priority list. But I had heard that they were amazing live, and I would probably never have to opportunity to see them, in glasgow, again. So with the mottos "You only live once" and "Go big or go home" on repeat, I bought tickets to the show. It was definitely one of the best decisions I have made.
The show was amazing! Did I mention that Jay Z opened for them? I am not sure Scotland is quite ready for jay Z yet, but it was cool getting to see him. Some of my dance moves would not only have been rejected in the US, they would have been frowned upon. And Coldplay was phenomenal. Chris Martin basically stole my heart. He is so talented- great voice, plays guitar and piano: all with a British accent! They played all of the songs that I knew (the scientist, fix you, yellow, viva la vida) as well as some new ones. Once again- they were so great! It definitely ranks pretty high on my list of concerts.
Our friend Andy had joined us for the concert, and he has driven his car. So the four American girls got to ride in a car in the UK for the first time, and it was a little scary. Not so much andy's driving but the fact that it all just felt backwards. I guess it is something that I will have to get used too. The group of us went back and celebrated Ginny's birthday and had a blast.
Until my next adventure,
love xox
